Lace-Edge Hemstitched Burp Cloths
Learn additional machine hemstitching techniques while making two different imported cashmere cotton flannel burp cloths with crochet-like lace edging.
Experiment with different hemstitches, attaching lace, cording, color, curves, etc. Then choose your favorite combination to hemstitch and attach lace for dressy burp cloths for special occasions! Narrow Hemming, Twin-Needle Pintucks and Shadow Work Scallops
After 25 years - still some of Carol's most popular techniques!
Use stitches and accessories available on most sewing machines for these finishing and embellishing techniques: Learn how to really use a narrow hemmer, use twin needles for corded pintucks and lovely shadow work scallops.
Note: Requires sewing machines able to use twin needles and with some basic stitches.
Kits includes instructions: high quality Austrian Cashmere Cotton flannel, Cluny (or similar) lace edging, for one blanket and 2- burp cloths, pearl cotton, Maderia Cotona 80 machine-embroidery thread, wing and universal needles, practice pieces, and twin needle
Fee includes: registration, instructions, Teacher fee, project kits complete with morning snack, lunch, snack, and drinks provided.

Your dress front will be interfaced and prepleated ready for you to block and start smocking the first day of class.
The sleeveless smocked dress is available in Blue or White Swiss Voile by Bear Threads.
The Jacket features rows and rows of Siss and French insertions stitched onto silk organza base. The cotton antique netting collar has lots of 1/8" released tucks and a French edging finish. The pattern in sizes 3-8 will be provided in class. Basic geometric smocking ability is a prerequiste.

Embroidery/Fine Machine Sewing.
The focus of this two day class will be fine machine construction. The petit point pique Swing Style Top is fully linned. The yokes and pockets are accented with a bit of hand embroidery, button centered cast-on-stitched flowers connected with chain stitching.
The yoke pockets, and ruffle sleeve edges are accented with a interesting two color entredeux edge trim. Master refinishing the ends of your French bias binding to the exact length to fit around the pockets, neckline, and lower edge of swing top. The cuffed, reversible capri pants are completely machine finished.
The pattern is provided in sizes 3,4,5, and 6 years. The kit choices , Navy/bright lime check or Aqua/orange check.
